Book Style #1 BEDSIDE BOOK

How to get the bedside book look when you don't have a bedside table!

When it comes to design, the imagination of the designer is what transforms a room.

It can be hard to think of the difference that one or two books will make in a bedroom without a library, but this book style piece will show you how it can be done!

BEFORE & AFTER

The Collective Canary Wharf

A good example of this book style is at The Collective Canary Wharf in London

The room did not have a traditional bedside table but some narrow shelves above the bed and a reading light.

Our recommendation was for one to two books on the shelf displayed with the face up to entice the reader into picking up the book.

Together, we opted for non-fiction books because they are books that can teach you something about the world.

Also they can be enjoyed front-to-back, back-to-front, upside down, in just a few pages viewing or reading. We like that non-fiction can be both an art book with pictures and a reference book with words. Something for everyone....

The Library Essential team sees any flat surface as an opportunity for books, especially if they are close to the bed and within close proximity of a night light.
